THELMA – AIREDALE – FEMALE – 3 YEARS OLD?

Hi! I’m THELMA!

We were contacted by some kind folks about Thelma, and what we are guessing is her daughter, Louise, as they had been hanging around their home for a few days and sleeping under their deck. Both girls had faces and feet full of porcupine quills. We have sedated them to remove quills three times as they festered out, and (fingers crossed) hope that they are now quill-free.

We were surprised that no one ever came forward looking for these two.

Thelma is very outgoing and friendly with people. We do not think she would do well with kitties as she is way too interested in them. In watching her interact with a few other dogs, she did show dominance, so Thelma might do best as an only doggo.

These girls do not act like they have been abused, but definitely were neglected, as they have no manners and are not potty-trained.

We feel it is important that these ladies go to Airedale-savvy homes as they are “a lot” and very typical Airedales. We also feel it is best that they are adopted separately so they will bond more easily with their new families.

Thelma has been spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and now groomed. She was concerned with the whole grooming experience but our groomer is very patient and compassionate and kept the appointment stress-free for Thelma. She never snapped or showed aggression, even though it was a whole new thing for her.
