***ADOPTED!*** MAGGIE – Border Collie X – Female – 1-1/2 Y
This is one amazing girl and we just cannot say enough good about her. She came to us because the other female dog in her home was not liking Maggie one bit so her owner decided she should be rehomed before she got hurt. Maggie has been with us quite a while as we have been trying to get her into some programs as a therapy dog but most didn’t have any clients looking for a dog like her. So we have decided to bring Maggie forth to the public where she can be her glorious self for a very lucky new owner.
We are not sure of Maggie’s breeding but she has the body structure of a sight hound (whippet, Italian greyhound etc.) and like a sight hound, she is very cat like … quick and very light on her feet – very dainty and is an all around beautiful girl. She would be a great agility prospect or super for a long distance runner! Maggie has been exposed to livestock often … she shows no herding instinct and no sign of wanting to work. Super fascinated with livestock though – wants to play with the goats but the horses scare her a bit.
Maggie is curious about the world – she REALLY wants to bond to someone. Content to be by your side and is very patient. Loves to give hugs! You can tell she would love to do any kind of training and is constantly looking at her human for validation – so smart! She will sit at the door and wait, sit for her food and wait — also walks very well on a loose leash.
Maggie is spayed, house broke, wonderfully crate trained, wormed, microchipped and up to date on shots. She does fabulous with other dogs – not dominant and is submissive. Not raised with cats — likes to chase them but more out of playfulness and not viscous. Might take a good older cat with some claws to teach her a few manners about kitties. In regards to children – was not raised with them but we had her at an event at PetSmart and she was amazing with the children there.
This gal is an amazing athlete who can also be a couch potato if you so desire. All Maggie wants is for you to wear her as a scarf.
