HAMISH – DSH Orange Tabby – Male – 7 Mos.
Sweet Hamish was turned into us by a very concerned citizen. Seems he showed up at her house as a stray and then her dogs harassed him and were probably trying to hurt him which lead to Hamish hiding in her garage. Took 4 days of scrounging through her garage before she finally found him terrified behind some boxes. Our veterinarian went over him with a fine tooth comb but we found no injuries thank goodness. One thing was blatantly clear, Hamish ADORED people!
He spent several weeks at the PetSmart in the Heights as one of our highlighted kitties but no adopters came through for him. So we moved him into one of our awesome foster homes and she has been working with him a lot in regards to liking dogs. Hamish would still prefer a home without dogs but he does seem to be tolerating them more and more with each passing day. Of course, our foster home dogs are great with cats so this is a plus for Hamish.
The very first thing we noticed when he was turned into us was that he has a very strange meow. We are not sure if when he was a stray, he meowed so much that it did something to his voice box or if he was born this way. No offense to our smoking friends but he sounds like a cat who does 3 packs a day! 🙂
Our foster mom had this to say about him:
“This boy is a perfect gentleman. He would prefer a quiet home as he is shy. Hamish loves the children in his foster home! He gets along with other cats, however he would rather not have many dogs in his new home. Hamish loves to knead on fleece blankets. This sweet boy is ready to warm your heart!”
Feline leukemia/FIV negative, neutered, up to date on shots, wormed, microchipped and litter trained, this sweet tabby boy has been waiting months for his forever home and we are hoping that NOW is his time!
