BLUE – German Shorthaired Pointer/Hound X – Male – 5 Y
This boy has truly stolen all of our hearts here … what a hunky, handsome, well built boy! He came to us as an unclaimed stray from Yellowstone County — we couldn’t believe there wasn’t someone looking for him so the RHS did a huge social media campaign and also put ads in the Billings Gazette and Craigslist but we did not get any bites. So Blue is on his way to a new home.
Blue has spent some time with our trainer to assess his temperament and see what he was all about. We were ALL pleasantly surprised that this boy is pretty much “instant dog”! Our trainer exclaimed, “He is SO easy!” Not only is he handsome, sturdy and very muscular, Blue is super well mannered and an awesome house dog! He already knew how to walk on a loose lead, knows sit, wait, stay and down. Blue came to us as an intact male but he was still very dog neutral and did no fence fighting or ever raised his hackles. We showed him an e-collar and he got super excited so someone probably hunted him but we are NOT going to make any guarantees on that.
Blue is wonderfully house trained, crate trained, great with other dogs, pays no attention to cats and … even though we haven’t had him around children, with his laid back demeanor, we can only assume he would do good with kids. The reason we know there is some hound in there is that Blue will “bay” when he sees the rabbits around the trainers home. He adores his knuckle bones and we know he would love to go on long hikes with his new owner! Our trainer describes this boy as a “happy dufus”.
Blue is now neutered, up to date on shots, wormed and microchipped.
