BELLA – Pitbull Terrier – Female – 8 Y
Look at that face – isn’t she adorable? Bella came to us as an unclaimed stray and after some networking on social media we came into contact with her original owner. He had to move and had given Bella away to a person in Billings who was obviously not looking for her or wanting her back. 🙁 Her old owner told us that she had originally belonged to his mother-in-law and then when she passed away, he had Bella for several years. Unfortunately, she could not come on the move with him so he was faced with the sad task of finding a new home for her. The one thing we noticed immediately about Bella is how heart broken she truly is — initially when we would take her outside, she was always looking … pulling and wanting to get away so she could find her owner. Even though she has been with us for a while and seems happier, there are days that she has that sadness in her eyes. 😢 If you have ever owned a Pitbull, you will understand that they bond hard with their owners and when separated, they grieve horribly. 💔
Bella is your typical pittie! She is very dog neutral with other pooches but greets them like any Pit — with her tail in the air and rushes right up into their face! Most dogs are not comfortable with this so dog introductions need to be heavily supervised. Bella was raised as an only dog in her old home and we believe she would enjoy that status again in her new home. Bella is not good with cats or small animals in general so no small dogs either. As with most Pits, she is great with kids and people in general. Super loving, thinks she is a lap dog and is a great cuddler. If you have a treat, she knows sit, shake and lay down. Was not good on leash initially but our trainer now has her walking loose lead wonderfully! Her old owner said he could leave her alone in the house and she did just fine … was not destructive (although she is wonderfully crate trained now and doesn’t mind the crate in the least). Bella used to chase her tail and the family had a tire swing out back that she would play with and swing from! Even now, she does love her toys and her knuckle bone!
Spayed, up to date on shots, wormed and microchipped. We are so hoping that there is someone out there that would love to help heal Bella’s broken heart and prove to her that her golden years are still worth living!
