This may sound like a broken record but as we have
stated on some of the other pages, since we do not have a facility yet
-- we cannot, realistically, offer the full range of services that we
intend in the future. However, you may be surprised as to what we DO
offer already!
Adoption
Through
the kindness of foster homes and owner's who are looking for assistance
in re-homing their animals, the Rimrock Humane Society does have full
pet adoption services. Dog temperaments are evaluated and all animals
go through very thorough health checks. Adoptive homes are screened
and visited (see our Adoption Policies page)
before the animal is placed. All animals are spayed and neutered before
adoption. Adoption fees are as follows:
DOG/PUPPY: $70.00
CAT/KITTEN: $50.00
These
adoption fees include spay/neuter, microchip, distemper shots, rabies, worming,
feline leukemia test (cats), collar & leash (dogs), and a free 5 lb. bag of Hill's Science Diet
pet food.

We
proudly feed and recommend Hill's Science Diet Brand Pet Foods! |
We
are also pleased to offer our new adopters one free month of pet insurance
from Shelter Care.
Alleviate the financial stress associated with your pet’s unexpected medical expenses and generate funds for our shelter at the same time! Simply apply for a ShelterCare Pet Insurance Program by using the ShelterCare banner-link.
Here’s how it works: ShelterCare Pet Insurance Programs cover you when your pet needs essential veterinary care from an illness or injury. Also, every time a completed application for a ShelterCare program is generated through our shelter’s website, we automatically receive a $25 donation to help cover common needs like blankets, litter and food. This donation is of no cost to you and provides us with essential funds. Make the right move and enroll today! |
Low
Cost Spay/Neuter Program (CSNiP)
Thanks
to the kindness of our donors and grants from such foundations as the Irene C Evans Charity Fund, the Rimrock Humane Society
is able to offer to the citizens of this area low cost spay/neuters
for their pets through our Community Spay/Neuter Program (CSNiP). All that is required is a small monetary donation from
the pet owner (an amount of their chosing) and then the RHS will pay
the remainder of the bill to the participating vet clinics. This is a win/win/win
situation for all involved! The vets are getting full payment for their
surgeries, the owner is getting a healthier pet at a much lower cost
and the Rimrock Humane Society is getting closer to their goal of helping
to control pet overpopulation. If you are interested in this great program,
please contact us! We would love to help out any way we can. (Coming soon - a link to a page that will describe this program in detail! Please be patient while we build!)
Community
Outreach
We
try to educate and speak with as many groups and organizations as possible
in regards to responsible pet ownership and the current status of the
Rimrock Humane Society. We recently completed a training class for the
deputies and reserve deputies of Musselshell County on the topic of
animal control and what is "humane". If you would like us
to speak with your organization, please call to make an appointment.
Humane
Education
The
children of our society are the future "pet owners" of this
world and we truly feel that they are the most important source to educate
about proper care and ownership of animals. They are so receptive to
new ideas and also to what is "right and wrong". The Rimrock
Humane Society had fun speaking with the local 5th grade classes on
spaying/neutering your pets and also gave a demonstration to the Senior
class in regards to the effects of a proper animal control program within
a community. We look forward to more time spent in the classroom.
Future Services
We have many
plans up our sleeve for when we are fully operational. Cremation for
beloved pets, pet cemetery, dog grooming, spay/neuter services available
at the shelter, training center with free obedience classes for those
adopting new pets, and a wonderful education room/meeting room for teaching
classes or it will be available to rent for other community meetings.
We cannot wait to achieve these goals -- all we need is a little help
from our friends!
