Rimrock Humane Society's Rummage Sale a Huge Success

The doors of the Roundup Community Center opened at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 18th to a huge cornucopia of treasures available to the eager buyer. The gymnasium where this event is held every year was burgeoning with donated items, more than any previous year.

”We are just tickled pink with the community’s reaction to our sale”, Sandy Church, President of the humane society stated. “Not only with the amount of donations this year but also the number of people who attended and purchased items”.

There were not only a large array of used items but brand new giftware donated by Jorgenson Drug and Morning Grind plus four huge racks of brand new clothes donated by Dud’s & Designs as well. “Folks really like the new items”, Church said “and we cannot thank these local merchants enough for their belief in our cause.” Many donations came from as far away as Billings, Lavina and Absarokee.

After the doors were shut on Saturday evening, a whopping $4,200 was raised to be applied to the Rimrock Humane Society’s newly launched capital campaign, Operation Homeward Bound.

Volunteers worked tirelessly from Sunday the 13th through the end of the sale, sorting, organizing and pricing the items. “None of this would be possible without the cooperation of the community and our many dedicated volunteers. To all of you, the Rimrock Humane Society thanks you from the bottom of our hearts!” Every year the event gets bigger and the Rimrock gang looks forward to next year’s 4th annual sale with optimism and hope.
