2nd Annual Rimrock Rover Ramble a Success
Excited barking, happy tail wags and the pitter-pat of feet on the pavement
. . . those were the gratifying images and sounds from the 2nd annual
Rimrock Rover Ramble which took place on September 11th at the Roundup
Fairgrounds. Over 38 participants took part in either a 1.5 mile leisurely
walk along the Musselshell River or some more enthusiastic health enthusiasts
ran (or walked) a 3 mile plotted course all to benefit the Rimrock Humane
Society. Many came from Roundup, Billings, Columbus and one gentleman
in particular came all the way up from Aurora, CO to walk for this wonderful
cause!"
After having our first Rover Ramble under our belt in 2003, we were
so excited to launch this year’s event," stated Rimrock’s
President Sandy Church. "We were not disappointed – we had
as great a turn out this year as we did last year" she added.
Between registrations fees, pledges and sponsorships from local businesses,
the Ramble netted approx. $3,700. “The support from the Roundup
community was so touching. We had double the number of sponsors this
year, great door prizes and like last year, many folks couldn’t
walk but they gave anyway. It all just means the world to us”
Church said. (Please see the letter of appreciation to all involved
in this edition as well).
This event promoted not only good health for owners and pets, it also
raised the awareness of the homeless pets in Musselshell County and
also the beauty of our area. The Rimrock Humane Society is excited about
next year’s Ramble and is ever hopeful that participation will
grow every year!
