Rimrock Humane Society Gears Up for the Rimrock Rover Ramble

The Rimrock Humane Society is hip-deep in the planning stages of their 2nd annual dog walk/run aptly named, the Rimrock Rover Ramble. The Ramble is a three-mile run or 1.5 mile walk being held on September 11, 2004 at the Roundup Fairgrounds. All proceeds will benefit the Rimrock Humane Society and assist them towards their goal of raising funds to build their humane facility.

"We raised over $3,500 last year," stated Rimrock’s President Sandy Church. "We were thrilled with that type of turn out for our first year and are even more excited about what this second year has in store for us." she added.

This is a wonderful opportunity for pet lovers to gather together and help raise money for a great cause all the while getting exercise and spending quality time with their animal. “We would like to add that you can still walk even if you do not bring a dog . . . we just want folks to have fun and enjoy themselves,” Church stated.

If you pre-register before midnight of August 31, the registration fee will be $15. Any registrants after that date, the cost will be $20. Pledges are not mandatory but highly encouraged. You can register on line at http://www.rimrockhumanesociety.org/rrr.html or call the RHS at 406-323-3687 and they will gladly send you a registration form. The Rimrock Humane Society is now accepting credit cards for your convenience as well.

Registration will begin on September 11th from 8:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. The 3 mile run begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. and the walk at 10:15 a.m. All participants will receive a free t-shirt and, in honor and memory of 9/11, the dogs will receive free patriotic flag bandanas. After the event, refreshments will be available and there will be many door prizes (donated by local merchants) given away to lucky winners.

According to Church, the Ramble moseys along the Musselshell River in many areas. “Last year, many folks commented on what a pretty venue it was for the walk. What better way to enjoy getting exercise with your pet and help a great cause.”
