MAX – Pitbull X – Male – 8 Y

Hi! I'm MAX!

Hi! I’m MAX!

Our hearts break for Max … he was adopted from us 7 years ago and is now looking for a new home. You see, his family not only moved but got new jobs. Used to be, his mom had a stay at home job and was with Max every day. Her new job now has her gone from the home 10 hours a day and her husband works similar hours. Max is NOT happy about this change at all and, whether out of boredom or anxiety, is being hugely destructive in the home. If crated, he will spend his day ripping at the crate until he is a bloody mess. Out of the crate, the home is the subject of his unhappiness. The family is at their wits end and only want Max to be happy. The perfect home for this sweet boy would be one where he could have his humans around him most of the time.

What we remember of Max before his adoption is that he was such a happy, happy dog. He would walk himself by carrying his leash and bounce around on his back legs like he had springs in them. His family tells us that he is still a clown, super funny and loves to play. Enjoys walks and runs! He is super around other dogs and has lived with cats his whole life. Love, love, loves people and does fine with older children. He has gotten a little snippy with small toddlers. Max has shown he can climb/jump a 4 foot fence but only does this to be with his family. When he started doing this, they would find him at the front door saying, “Hi, look at me … I am here!” So secure fencing will be a must. He doesn’t mind a crate but doesn’t like the door closed – some dogs can suffer from claustrophobia and Max might be one of those dogs. Max also gets to go to his Grandma & Grandpa’s ranch and will ride on the back of the 4 wheeler and help chase cows. Looking at his ears … there maybe some Heeler in there!

Housebroke, neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped — this boy may take some time to adapt to a new home but once he does, he is going to be the best friend you never knew you needed! :)

***OUR HOPE IS TO FIND MAX A FOREVER HOME — if we cannot, then a foster family who is home most of the time will be needed ASAP.***
