Introducing the future home of the Rimrock Humane Society
The Rimrock Humane Society is in the process of raising funds to create our first animal care facility; a place of refuge for animals who otherwise would perish: the abandoned, the abused, the sick, the old and the suffering.
This facility will be the focal point for our many activities and programs plus provide the community with a show-piece that sets an example for local residents of the compassionate care of animals. It will allow visitors and prospective adopters to interact with our animals in a relaxed, home-like setting where human/animal bonds will undoubtedly become quickly established, resulting in a substantially higher number of adoptions than we have ever experienced.
The facility will provide a venue for our educational programs and a place for children to visit and learn about animals. It will enable us to expand our volunteer program and involve many more local children and adults in the care of animals.
Above all, it will provide a haven for desperate animals who deserve a second chance at a happy, safe, and comfortable life. |

The need is real . . .
The Rimrock Humane Society serves a state and a region of desperate need. Rural Montana has a long history of neglect, ill-treatment and needless overpopulation of animals. Dogs and cats are often dumped along country roads or left to fend for themselves in this state's very harsh weather. Some come to us near death and in immediate need of emergency medical care.
A lack of cultural traditions that favor animal protection and the presence of only minimal community awareness of the importance of spay/neuter programs in helping to prevent animal overpopulation, exacerbate the problems of animal abuse in our region. |
