ELI – Blue Heeler X – Male – 1 Y
Meet Eli, a wonderful male Heeler mix approximately a little over 1 years old. Like many of our animals, Eli was an unclaimed Yellowstone County Stray. He won the hearts of all at the veterinary clinic. He makes friends where ever he goes and everyone says the same thing after spending time with Eli, “He is SOOOO SWEET!!!” Eli completed the Rover Ramble and did fantastic with all of the commotion and other dogs!
Eli was a stray so we don’t know much about his background or breeding. The blue on his chest and feet appear to be Heeler and his tail looks border collie. He weighs about 45 pounds. Eli is intelligent, cooperative and enthusiastic. He’s high energy and loves to play outside but has a gentle laid back overall demeanor. We think he would be great at agility or some other performance sport. Eli hasn’t had a lot of training but he sits and he does catch on fast — gets along super with other dogs. He loves to go for car rides and doesn’t mind being groomed. Eli does ok with cats but he did chase the foster kitty initially, so a kitty-free home or one with a dog savvy cat would be recommended. Because of his breed nature, energy level and his intelligence, Eli needs to be kept busy. If he is bored, he is going to entertain himself and you won’t like the outcome! He would love a job, a playmate with a similar energy level or someone to hang with 24/7.
Eli had some dangling dew claws on his back feet so we had those removed along with his neuter. He’s housebroken and is also up to date on shots, wormed and microchipped. With a little training, this little charmer will make a super companion for some lucky human.
