Cats for Adoption

If you are interested in any of these cats, please be sure to read our Adoption Policies page and if you feel that you qualify, then you may print out an adoption application AND our terms of adoption - no adoption will be considered without BOTH forms! (These forms are in a PDF format - it requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to view. If you do not have Acrobat Reader you can download it here.) The Rimrock Humane Society takes serious inquiries only. Please fax the completed forms to (406)-323-1863 or mail to: Rimrock Humane Society, P.O. Box 834, Roundup, MT 59072.

The Rimrock Humane Society is a "virtual" shelter - all pets reside in loving foster homes and do not live in kennels or cages. Since we do not have a facility you can "visit", then please call us at 406.323.3687 or email wschurch@midrivers.com to make an appointment to see a pet if interested! Thanks for your cooperation.

Name:  Twilight
Breed:  DSH Black

Sex: Male                     Age:  10 mos.
Stray                           Date:  12/21/09

Twilight is a gorgeous and very affectionate boy.  He is very shy at first but once he gets to know you he would love to be beside you all the time.  Twilight believes he can talk like his people and likes to tell you all about his day.  He talks in very soft little meeps and tries so very hard to speak human!   He is very polite and likes to spend his day lounging in high up places.  His foster mom is a weaver and Twilight likes to hang out on top of the loom while she works and supervise her progress. This handsome boy is litter box trained, neutered, microchipped and up to date on all his shots.  He gets along with other cats (females) and some dogs.  He is slightly intimidated by larger dogs until he knows he won’t be eaten.  Twilight and his siblings were rescued from a foreclosed rural farm in Nebraska.  They were born to a feral mom who decided to come in from the cold to have her kittens.  Mom left and the kittens stayed until they were taken in by their current foster family.  Twilight just wants to be cuddled and loved and would adore a forever home to call his own!

Name:  Popeye
Breed:  DSH Brown Tabby

Sex: Male                     Age:  2 Y
Stray                           Date:  12/21/09

**********COURTESY LISTING - PLEASE CONTACT RESCUE PERSON BELOW***********
Popeye was found by his foster mom's neighbor.  He had been hanging around for about a month and obviously was not leaving.  He is appropriately named, Popeye, considering he only has one eye; the missing eye has been gone for a long time and does not seem to hurt him.  After running an ad in the newspaper, no one seems to be missing this sweet, big boy.  Popeye has made himself very comfortable in the foster mom’s guest bedroom.  He is quiet, mellow, loves to be petted and will follow you around then flop down and roll over.  He is a young, adult big brown tabby  with spots rather than stripes which makes him very handsome.  He does not seem to mind dogs and he lets the other kitties smell him and touch his nose when they come visiting him in his room.  Popeye has been leukemia/FIV tested and was negative, is neutered and has had his rabies shot.  He would love a quiet, indoor home where he could be King! ***IF INTERESTED, PLEASE CALL ELLEN AT 406-698-4661***

Name:  Blaze
Breed:  DSH Calico

Sex: Female                 Age:  8 mos.
Stray                           Date:  12/21/09

**********COURTESY LISTING - PLEASE CONTACT RESCUE PERSON BELOW***********
Blaze was found as a stray at a local fishing access in Billings.  She had been dumped and left to fend for herself along with (4) of her kittens.  County Animal Control officers found two of the kittens alive and two that had been hit by cars but they could not find her.  Lucky for Blaze, her foster mom found her in the middle of the road and picked her up. Blaze was very thin, had a temperature of 103 and a bad abscess behind her right ear.  After a vet check, antibiotics and some good food Blaze is on the mend.  The vet then found that Blaze had fluid around her heart.  After X-rays and more antibiotics Blaze is feeling much better and is playing for the first time!  Blaze is very loving and does not mind other cats or dogs.  She loves to curl up in her favorite chair or sit in the sun.  She  sleeps on the bed next to her foster mom at night and comes running when it’s time to eat and waits patiently to be fed.  Blaze is a petite cat and will never be a very big girl.  She has beautiful green eyes and even after everything she has been through is very trusting. Blaze is leukemia/FIV negative, has been spayed and is ready for a loving home! What an ordeal this poor girl has been through and, like most animals, she is forgiving, loving and appreciative of all attention! Help Blaze find a home for the holidays! ***IF INTERESTED, PLEASE CALL ELLEN AT 406-698-4661***

Name:  Poof
Breed:  DMH Flame Point Siamese

Sex: Male                    Age:   2 Y
Owner Turn In            Date:  10/04/09

Poof's momma has to move and cannot take this sweet boy along. What a handsome cat - his hair is ever so soft and he has gorgeous flame point markings and those eyes . . . well, beautiful blue orbs that are definitely crossed. We don't mean to giggle at his "disability" but when he plays, he often is focusing in a different area than where the toy is ... poor guy! Of course, he doesn't know any different! Poof purrs like a tank and wants you to wear him like a hat ... adores attention and loves to play (check him out in his video debut). He was born and raised with dogs so does super with them (Poof and Luna the Beagle are best friends) and his owner says he is not a fussy eater - loves whatever food you put down! One small concern would be his litter box training ... his owner currently lets him outside to do his business so she is unsure if he remembers how to use a litterbox or not. We here at the RHS believe that kitties need to be indoor in order to have a long and happy life so Poof may need a little brush up on the litter box. We have ways to help with this so do not let this stop you from adopting this gorgeous young man! Neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped . . . trust us when we say that you will not regret adopting this beautiful boy!

Name:  Honey
Breed:  DSH White Calico

Sex: Female                 Age:  1-1/2 Y
Stray                           Date:  08/04/09

Honey and her kitten, Prince, were discovered abandoned in an alley and were luckily found by a kind Samaritan who has given them a roof over their heads and love in their hearts until we can find them new furever homes.  Honey has some oriental breeding in her heritage (either Siamese or Burmese) as she is very long, sleek and her face is very angular.  Gorgeous cat that is mostly white with some calico markings on top of her head and body.  This sweetie thrives on attention . . . loves to be loved . . . and if you don’t have time, she’ll jump right in your lap or rub on your legs until you do have time!  Likes to sleep at night with her foster mom but at the foot of the bed, not wrapped up by your head.  Does super with children, good with other cats, a little tentative around the family dog but the dog is not a big cat lover so understandable.  Litter trained, spayed, up to date on shots, and microchipped – Honey lives up to her name and then some . . . sweeten up your life with this beauty!

Name:  Wiley
Breed:  DSH Orange Tabby (declawed)

Sex: Male                     Age:  3 Y
Owner Turn In            Date:  03/22/09

Well now, would you look at this handsome fella - all 12 lbs. of him! Wiley is a wonderful boy who smiles a full tooth grin when he meows, loves snoozing on the bed or basking in the sunshine on a window sill (what more could any cat ask for?). It did take Mr. Handsome here about one week to adjust to his new foster home - he did do some hiding and hissing at the other kitties at first but now is running around playing with the other cats and having a grand time (good with the resident dogs too)! Wiley is a very sweet, loving cat - his owners could no longer keep him and tearfully said their goodbyes. This boy has it all - neutered, declawed, up to date on shots, microchipped, feline leukemia negative and litter trained. MEWOW! Someone is sure going to be lucky to have this boy as their forever companion!

Name:  Toya
Breed:  Siamese/Calico X

Sex: Female                  Age:  7 Y
Owner Turn In             Date: 01/04/08

Hello world! (tap, tap, tap on the computer screen) Hello? Toya here .... has anyone noticed how long I have been in my foster home? Over a year - that's right - a YEAR! I just can't believe that no one would want a gorgeous girl like me!! My age you say? You mean the fact that I am settled, dignified and very mature is not a good selling feature? Let me tell ya, I have to admit that it did take me some time to come out of my shell here but now I am a wonderful outgoing she-cat. I love to find my human and just spend time sitting next to them, soaking in attention and getting on their lap as long as it is "my" choice to do so (like every other cat I know). I can be vocal if I want (thanks to my Siamese heritage) and will let you know when I require some lovin' and attention. Big, furry canine beasts are not my particular favorite and I would prefer a home without them. I will tolerate other cats and am not mean to them but, truthfully, I would love to be someones "one and only". That's just me being honest with you. I have had all of the necessary offending procedures such as spaying, microchipping, all shots including rabies. I use the litter box like a good girl and am very clean about myself. Hasn't anyone noticed my gorgeous coat with the riot of colors and my eyes . . . check out my eyes . . . have you seen a more beautiful shade of blue ever? Please somebody notice me and open your hearts & home. I so desire a human "slave" . . .er . . . "owner" to call my own!
